World Sight Day celebrated on Oct 14:
• The second Thursday in October is celebrated as World Sight Day.
• And this year the day was celebrated on 14 October.
• It is considered the most important day in the eye health calendar for advocacy and communication.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur initiated MyParkings App on 14 October:
• Anurag Singh Thakur, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, initiated the ‘MyParkings’ app.
• Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL) and South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) combined on an IoT-enabled app to elaborate all authorized parking inside SDMC municipal limits.

Toy-train safari launched:
• On the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Route, The Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) has started a regular Jungle Tea Toy Train Safari.
• In West Bengal, Toy-train safari will run from Siliguri junction to Rongtong station.

• In the Asian Youth Championship, Indian boxers has won six gold medals along with nine silver and five bronze medals.
• Also, in this event, women’s competition was significantly decreased because of pullouts caused by COVID-19 related travel restrictions.

FBI report for US Hate Crimes:
• As per the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) report, the number of hate crimes in United States has increased to highest level in the year 2020.
• Also, this report find 7,759 hate crimes in 2020. This report has been increased by 6 percent as compared to 2019 data and is the highest tallied since 2008.
அமெரிக்க வெறுப்பு குற்றங்களுக்கான FBI அறிக்கை:
• ஃபெடரல் பீரோ ஆஃப் இன்வெஸ்டிகேஷன் (FBI) அறிக்கையின்படி, அமெரிக்காவில் வெறுப்பு குற்றங்களின் எண்ணிக்கை 2020 ஆம் ஆண்டில் மிக உயர்ந்த மட்டத்திற்கு அதிகரித்துள்ளது.
• மேலும், இந்த அறிக்கை 2020 இல் 7,759 வெறுப்பு குற்றங்களைக் கண்டறிந்துள்ளது. இந்த அறிக்கை 2019 தரவுகளுடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில் 6 சதவிகிதம் அதிகரித்துள்ளது மற்றும் 2008 க்குப் பிறகு மிக அதிக எண்ணிக்கையாகும்.
