The Report of Oxfam’s Hunger Virus Multiplies:
• According to the Oxfam report, since the Covid-19 Pandemic started, deaths from hunger are faster than the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
• The covid-19 pandemic along with the economic disturbance of the pandemic besides, the stronger climate crisis has deepened poor and catastrophic food insecurity across the hunger hotspots of the world.

Kappa Covid Variant identified in Uttar Pradesh:
• Recently, two cases of fast transmissible Kappa variant of COVID-19 were identified in Uttar Pradesh.
• The Cases were found after genome sequencing of samples at Lucknow’s King George medical college. Genome sequencing is considered a laboratory process that is instrumental for characterizing mutations and follow the information about covid-19 disease outbreaks.

Qatar Airways combined IATA’s Turbulence Aware Platform:
• As per Qatar Airways and International Air Transport Association (IATA) Qatar Airways will be considered the first airline in the Middle East to join IATA Turbulence Aware platform.
• IATA Turbulence Aware assist airlines to mitigate the effect of turbulence which is a leading cause of passenger & crew injuries and higher fuel price each year.

DRDO- AICTE initiated M. Tech. Program in Defence Technology:
• Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) have initiated a regular MTech course in Defence Technology.
• Tech programme was mainly initiated to impart necessary theoretical and practical knowledge, skill and aptitude in defence technology.

Modification actions in ‘Agriculture Infrastructure Fund’:
• On July 8, 2021, Cabinet has accepted modifications in the ‘Agriculture Infrastructure Fund’.
• This move is mainly focused on enlarging the “Rs 1-lakh-crore Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF)”.
