Advanced Chaff Technology:
Recently, The Defence Research and Development Organization developed an Advanced chaff technology to safeguard military ships against missile attacks. The DRDO laboratories located in Jodhpur have developed three variants of Advanced Chaff Technology. They are Short Range Chaff Rocket, Long Range Chaff Rocket, and Medium Range Chaff Rocket.
The Chaff technology is used in military ships worldwide to self-protect against enemy radar and radio frequency missile seekers.

National Policy for Rare Diseases:
“ The National Policy for Rare Diseases, 2021” was recently approved by The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
This policy mainly focuses on the early screening and prevention of rare diseases. This is to be achieved through the Health and Wellness Centers. The screening is to be supported by the Nidhan Kendra’s set up by the Biotechnology Department.
Around eight health facilities are to be appointed as Centres of Excellence of rare diseases. They will focus on the action of stop and treatment of rare diseases. These centers are to be furnished with the one-time financial support of Rs 5 crores.

IIT Kanpur develops touch-sensitive watch for visually impaired peoples:
A professor and a research associate of (IIT) Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur have been developed a sensitive watch for the use of visually impaired peoples. The main thing is, the watch has tactile hour indicators of different shapes. These indicators helped the visually impaired persons to recognize the time very easily.
Currently, mechanical watches are available for visually impaired peoples. Here the user has to felt the needles of an hour and minute hand to know the time. Also, the touch-sensitive watch developed has no moving parts. Thus, the main advantage there is no scope of breakage in the touch-sensitive watch.
