The government launched IMI 2.0 on 2nd December 2019

The Indian government has launched Intensified Mission Indradhanush 2.0 on December 02, 2019. The IMI 2.0 helps to prevent eight major diseases, The vaccines cover for Measles, Whooping Cough, poliomyelitis, Hepatitis B, tetanus, meningitis, tuberculosis, and diphtheria. The IMI 2.0 projects will be carried out between December 2019 and March 2020.The scheme safeguards the children under 2 years old and pregnant women are immunized against eight vaccine-preventable diseases.

Soma Roy appointed as the 24th new Controller General of Accounts.

Soma Roy is the 7th woman to hold the New Controller General of Accounts. The government on Sunday said it has appointed Soma Roy Burman, a 1986-batch Indian Civil Accounts Service Officer, as the new Controller General of Accounts.

She is a 1986-batch Indian Civil Accounts Service Officer. In her three decades of experience, she has held various cadre positions at different levels in ministries including Home Affairs, Road Transport & Highways, Information & Broadcasting, Industry, Finance, Human Resource Development, and Shipping.
She has served as the Additional Controller General of Accounts in the office of CGA. She has handled critical areas of accounting rules, financial reporting, policy and reforms, data analytics, cash, and budget management.

Controller General of Accounts (CGA) heads the Indian Civil Accounts Organisation under the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. CGA is the central accounting and reporting agency for the government. CGA is assisted by the officers of the Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS).

Hari Mohan takes over as the chairman of OFB

Hari Mohan on Sunday took charge as Chairman, Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) from Saurabh Kumar who superannuated from the service. A 1982-batch Indian Ordnance Factories’ Service (I.O.F.S.) officer with Post Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mohan had been a topper of the University of Allahabad & University of Pune while obtaining his Bachelor & Masters in Mechanical Engineering. He holds an M. Phil in Public Administration.

Ajit Doval was awarded the honorary doctorate at HNBCIJ

Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor (NSA), was awarded the honorary doctorate at the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Central University (HNBCIJ) convocation ceremony held at Srinagar. Around 414 students and scholars were awarded. Among them, 45 students received gold medals for scoring excellent marks.

Nagaland celebrated 57th statehood day on 1 December

Nagaland celebrates its statehood day. Nagaland is celebrating its 57th Statehood Day on December 01. It became the 16th State of the Union of India on 1st December 1963. The formal inauguration was done by the then President of India Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.

Exercise Mitra Shakti VII began in Pune

02 December 2019 Current Affairs: The seventh edition of Exercise Mitra Shakti-VII 2019 commenced on 1 December 2019 at Aundh Military Station, Pune. The exercise is held between Indian and Sri Lanka. The exercise is a part of the United Nations peacekeeping forces.
Aim:
The exercise aims to enhance the interoperability and operational efficiency between the Indian Army and Sri Lanka Army. It promotes positive relations between the two armies by focusing on sub-unit-level training on counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations in urban and rural environments.
