• Recently, A Biotech firm in the United States, Oxitec, started the most disputed field test of Genetically Modified mosquitos in Florida.
• The Genetically modified mosquitos take a gene that makes them shine when exposed to a particular type of light.
• Also, this light will help in identifying the Genetically Modified mosquitos.

The Oldest Human burial in Africa discovered:
• In Africa, Scientists have discovered the oldest human burial.
• This site is considered 78,000 years old.
• The cave site was found near the Kenyan coast. The site is named “Panga ya Saidi”.

Yamatosaurus Izanagi: Found New species of duck-billed dinosaur
• Palaeontologists (who studies fossils), An international team has discovered a new genus and species of hadrosaur.
• Hadrosaur is also named duck-billed dinosaur.
• The species has also named Yamatosaurus izanagii.

India has only one Hoolock Gibbon species:
• The Hoolock Gibbons are considered lesser apes.
• Also, They are known as the second largest of the Gibbons after Siamang.
• However, it was said earlier that India (North East India) is home to two species namely Eastern Hoolock Gibbon and Western Hoolock Gibbon.
• A recent study by the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology has discovered that only western Hoolock Gibbon is found in India.

• Recently, The Reserve Bank of India has started an on-tap liquidity window of Rs 50,000 crores.
• On-tap denotes ready to and Liquidity means cash. The on-tap liquidity window is determined as funds that are to be provided immediately.
• The COVID Loan book is an account of loans given by the banks under this new plan.
• Under this Plan, the banks can give lending support to vaccine manufacturers,
