Indian Bank and PCI signed a MoU:
• Indian Bank and the PCI (Paralympic Committee of India) as one of the banking companions of the Paralympic Games has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with scheduled to begin from August 24 in Tokyo, Japan.
• The Paralympic Committee of India’s president is Deepa Malik.

ஆகஸ்ட் 15 இந்தியாவின் சுதந்திர தினம்:
• ஆகஸ்ட் 15, 2021 அன்று, நாட்டின் சுதந்திரத்தைக் குறிப்பிடுவதற்காக இந்தியா 75 வது சுதந்திர தினத்தைக் கொண்டாடியது.

Vehicle Scrappage Policy:
• On Friday, 13 August, PM Narendra Modi initiated the Vehicle Scrappage Policy in India at the Gujarat Investor Summit and also ask for youths and start-ups to be part of the programme.
• Personal vehicles which is older than 20 years and business automobiles which is older than 15 years will have to carry a health test at the place of only government registered ‘automated fitness centers’.

First Cattle Genomic Chip of India:
• Recently, India’s first Cattle Genomic Chip IndiGau was launched. IndiGau is considered India’s first Cattle Genomic Chip especially launched for the conservation of pure types of indigenous cattle breeds like Gir, Kankrej, Sahiwal, Ongole, etc.
• As per the announcement released, IndiGau is considered the biggest cattle chip in the world.

Four New Ramsar Sites:
• Four more Indian sites – two every from Haryana and Gujarat – have been recognized as wetlands of global importance under the Ramsar Convention.
• Also, as per the latest estimates through Wetlands International South Asia, almost 30% of the natural wetlands in India have been temporarily lost in the last three decades. Majorly, the loss of Wetlands is extra prominent in urban areas.
