IUCN Status For African Elephants
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) declared African Forest elephants and jungle elephants to be “critically endangered” and “endangered” respectively. Also the African elephants were considered a single species and were classified as “Vulnerable.” This is the first time that these two species have been notified by the IUCN Red List.

- The African elephant is the largest terrestrial animal than Asian elephants.
- They have two finger-like features at the ends of their trunks, but the Asian elephants have only one.
- African elephants are a key species and plays a vital role in their ecosystems. Elephants are also called as “ecosystem engineers” .

இயற்கை பாதுகாப்புக்கான சர்வதேச ஒன்றியம் (ஐ.யூ.சி.என்) ஆப்பிரிக்க வன யானைகள் மற்றும் காட்டு யானைகள் முறையே “ஆபத்தான ஆபத்தானவை” மற்றும் “ஆபத்தானவை” என்று அறிவித்தன. ஆப்பிரிக்க யானைகள் ஒரு இனமாக கருதப்பட்டன, மேலும் அவை “பாதிக்கப்படக்கூடியவை” என்று வகைப்படுத்தப்பட்டன. இந்த இரண்டு இனங்கள் ஐ.யூ.சி.என் சிவப்பு பட்டியலால் அறிவிக்கப்படுவது இதுவே முதல் முறை.

Facebook, Google plan undersea cables to connect Southeast Asia and America :
March 29, 2021, Facebook announced a project that two new undersea cables to connect Singapore, Indonesia, and North America with Google and regional telecommunication companies to improve internet connection capacity between the regions. Named Echo and Bifrost, those will be the first two cables to go through a new diverse route crossing the Java Sea.
