IIST and Delft University of Netherlands signed an MOU:
• Recently, The Cabinet has approved MoU signed between the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) and Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), The Netherlands.
• This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covers the way for academic processes and also research involving students and college individuals of each institution.

• The continuation of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) for Fast Track Special Courts for two more years was approved by the cabinet.
• Fast Track Special Courts are considered dedicated courts which are also expected to make sure swift dispensation of justice.

Swinhoe’s softshell Turtle is World’s Most Endangered Turtle:
• In recent years, a lot of efforts have been put by conservationists to keep safe the world’s most risk Turtle, Swinhoe’s softshell Turtle, from the edge of extinction.
• The natural habitat for these turtles is considered wetlands and massive lakes. Also, these turtles are native to China and Vietnam.

• The 6th of August observes the anniversary of the atomic bombing in Hiroshima at some stage in World War II each and every year.
• On 6th August 1945, the horrific incident took place when the United States released an atomic bomb named “Little Boy” on Hiroshima in Japan.

First indigenous aircraft carrier:
• On August 4, 2021, India’s first indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, conducted its maiden sea trials for motivating the making of military equipment within India.

Earthquake Early Warning Mobile App:
• Recently, the Indian Institute of Technology in Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) has introduced an earthquake early warning (EEW) Mobile App for Uttarakhand.
• This mobile app project was organized by Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA).
