ADB gives 4 million USD to the Asia-Pacific countries to combat coronavirus outbreak

Asian Development Bank totally provides 4 million USD(Rs: 29 crores) to the Asia-Pacific countries to fight against coronavirus. The main goal of the bank is to assist growing countries in Asia and the Pacific to battle the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19).

ADB has also permitted an extra $2 million to help rising countries in Asia and the Pacific to contain the novel coronavirus outbreak. The ADB also asked to increase resilience to COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.

Indian Railways launches its First “Restaurant on Wheels” at Asansol Station

Indian Railways launches its first and foremost “Restaurant on Wheels at the Asansol Railway station, Paschim Bardhaman district, West Bengal. It was instated by the Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Shri Babul Supriyo in a programme held at Asansol station.

Restaurant on Wheels:

  • Two over-aged Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) coaches are converted into restaurants.
  • The restaurant is for the use of Railway passengers and the general public of Asansol.
  • It is expected to cause Rs.50 lakh of non-fare revenue during the next 5 years.
  • Union Minister also inaugurated two new air-conditioned Retiring Rooms and Electronic Reservation Chart Display System, through Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLAD) fund and a Battery operated Car at Asansol station.

EKAM (Entrepreneurship, Knowledge, Awareness, and Marketing) fest was inaugurated in New Delhi

Union Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment Thaawarchand Gehlot inaugurated the EKAM Fest. The fest is being held from 28-Feb to 6-Mar in New Delhi.

Organizing Team:

The Fest was organized by National Handicapped Finance Development Corporation (NHFDC) under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.

The main goal of this EKAM Fest is to encourage entrepreneurship among the Divyangjan community and increase awareness about the potentialities of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). It gives an opportunity for all to boost these products made with amazing determination by the divyang craftspersons and entrepreneurs.

Minister Amit Shah inaugurated NSG Regional Hub at Kolkata

Amit Shah – The union minister for home affairs has inaugurated the National Security Guard (NSG) Regional Hub campus at Kolkata, West Bengal. It aims to give adequate amenities to the brave NSG Jawans.  He also various welfare projects for NSG, amounting to over Rs. 245 crores, across Kolkata, Manesar, Chennai, and Mumbai.

It will make sure to improve the capabilities of the force and raising the morale of the jawans.

Minister Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurated 2020 Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela

The Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurated the Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela 2020 on 1 March. The fair aimed at calling talent in Agriculture.

 The festival purposes to make agriculture a profitable venture.

The government offers funds to promote agriculture as it is important that the share in GDP and exports should rise.

The Mela is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s priority to agriculture and achieving the target of doubling farmers’ income by 2022.

Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) publications were released in the farmers’ fair.
